Spotting the Fakes: My Journey to Being Real
Share
Hi, friends! I want to tell you something really important that I’ve learned: when you can see who is really your friend and who is just pretending, it can change your life! It’s like wearing special glasses that help you notice who truly cares about you and who is just acting nice. Once you understand this, you might start paying close attention to how people treat you.
True friends are the ones who cheer you on and support your dreams. But some people might just say nice things to find out what you’re doing or how they can get something from you. Figuring this out can be tough, but it’s super important for your happiness!
We Need More Real People
I believe we need more real people in the world—those who are brave enough to be themselves. Too many people try to fit into what they think others want because of social media or what society says. They look for attention for the wrong reasons and forget how important true friendship is.
A Story from My Life
Let me share a story that helped me see things clearly. When I moved to a new place as an adult, it was really hard to make friends. As we grow up, it can be hard to find people we connect with. I met some people and thought we were going to be good friends because I shared my life story. At first, everything seemed great!
But after a while, I found out the truth: they were just trying to be friends with me because they wanted to use me for things. They weren’t being real, and that hurt a lot, especially since I had opened my heart to them. I was new in town and facing challenges as a single mom, just wanting true friends.
When I realized their true motives, I decided to let them go. It was hard, but I focused on being the best mom I could be. Funny enough, years later, one of those fake friends came back like nothing happened, not knowing how much I had grown.
Knowing Your Worth
It’s really important to know how valuable you are and to stay away from people who bring you down. Here are some tips to help you feel good about being yourself and enjoy some alone time:
1. Know What Matters to You: Think about what you care about. What makes you happy? Write it down!
2. Think About Your Feelings: Spend a few minutes each day thinking about how you feel. Writing in a journal can help you understand yourself better.
3. Set Boundaries: Don’t be afraid to say no to people who don’t treat you right. Protecting your feelings is super important!
4. Enjoy Alone Time: Being alone can be a great way to find out what you like and who you really are.
5. Be Around Positive People: Find friends who lift you up and believe in you. Real friends will help you be your true self!
Be Brave and Be You!
I challenge you to be real in your life! Start by being honest about how you feel and what you need in your friendships. It’s okay to walk away from people who don’t respect you.
If you want help on this journey, I have journals that can help you think and write about being yourself. They can help you share your thoughts and feelings.
Remember, you deserve real love and friendship. Be brave, be yourself, and see how your life gets better! Embrace your journey, and remember that being true to yourself is the best gift you can give to the world.
